Hikurangi, New Zealand

In the northeast corner of New Zealand’s North Island lies Helena Bay Lodge, a hideaway of magnificent design. The property sits along three kilometres of pristine coastline, offering four private beaches and many intimate coves in what National Geographic Traveler Magazine ranked as one of the World’s Top Rated Islands, Coastlines and Beaches.

Helena Bay boasts a main lodge and five luxurious villa suites. The inspiration for the buildings came from an internationally curated collection of architecture, where timeless design reigned supreme. Enormous care has been taken to ensure that the designs are ageless, looking at home 100 years ago or 100 years from now.

The opulent suites all feature spacious balconies overlooking Helena Bay beach and the ocean beyond. Each room offers exquisite amenities including marble bathrooms, beautiful tapestries, and complimentary Leica binoculars to take in the wildlife in the sky and at sea.

Guests will enjoy exploring the main house with an impressive assortment of artwork from the owner’s private collection, accumulated during travels around the globe. There are also a wide variety of other activities and places to explore. For those looking to relax, there is a sumptuous spa and an outdoor pool heated for total comfort. For those looking to get active, there is a tennis court, hiking trails, and biking routes down to the beach. There are also alpacas, donkeys, and cattle to meet on land, and an incredible population of exotic creatures beneath the sea.

Lightfoot Travel provides tailor-made itineraries that include daily tours and excursions, restaurant recommendations and bookings, and can incorporate Hikurangi into a greater New Zealand or Australasian holiday.
