Parana River, Argentina
A traditional family-run estancia, Estancia Santa Cecilia is authentic as they come. Overlooking the Parana River, it is the perfect place to experience the gaucho way of life whilst you are looked after and welcomed in to the home by the delightful Silvia.
All rooms are comfortable and traditionally decorated as are the living and dining areas with antiques, high ceilings and hard wood floors throughout. When it comes to the food, home reared beef features heavily, with chunky steaks grilled on the asado which many clients have found to be the best beef they’ve ever tasted! Otherwise it is typical Argentine fare made from locally produced ingredients.
Horse riding, bird watching and fishing are all fantastic options within the property’s lush and expansive grounds, watching the gauchos at work with the cattle is a must do. More confident riders are invited to get involved with the rounding up of cattle and other farm activities
A great property offering a combination of traditional estancia life in comfort and the history of the nearby Jesuit ruins. It works perfectly with stays in the Iguazu Falls and the wildlife rich Ibera Wetlands.
