Estancia Peuma Hue, ‘the place of dreams’ in the native Mapuche language, is a very fitting name for this fantastic and cozy eco-lodge, reputed as one of the best in Argentina. It has the setting, comfort, food, activities and an incredible host, to make for an unforgettable experience.
Whilst Peuma Hue is only 35 kilometres from Bariloche town, it feels very isolated as you will reach it after a drive down a bumpy track off the main road and into Nahuel Huapi National Park. There are many trails for hiking and horse riding to suit any ability, whilst the lake offers fine fly-fishing.
The eleven comfortable and cosy rooms are traditionally decorated, spread across four separate houses with fine views of Gutierrez Lake and the rugged Andes beside it. With only one or two bedrooms in some of the houses, they are perfect for families; the Mountain cabin is a great spot hidden in the woods, particularly good for those with young teenagers.
The owner, Evelyn Hoter, envisioned this property as an environmentally-friendly abode, with lush landscapes of indigenous plants. The entire lodge is also decorated with local hand-crafted speciality log.
The winner of multiple accolades such as Best 30 Ecolodges in the World, Best Sustainable Luxury Tourism company in Latin America, it goes without saying that Estancia Peuma Hue is a unique property in a beautiful part of the world.
