Great Barrier Island
A short 30 minute flight from Auckland brings you to Great Barrier Island, New Zealand’s fourth largest – but also most untouched – island. Set in a picturesque setting of 12 acres, surrounded by an olive grove and native forest, Earthsong Lodge is a small and intimate 5 star lodge.
Its location is ideal for a relaxing and romantic holiday amidst lush scenery, breath-taking views and within vicinity ok 90km of hiking trails. Constructed with straw-bale, the structure of Earthsong Lodge has been created so as to be in harmony with the earth’s scarce resources.
From the Ocean View Suites, you are able to admire spectacular sea views, from the comfort of your private courtyard. Separate from the main lodge, these suites offer intimacy each with an entrance lobby, adjoining en-suite bathroom and spacious bedrooms.
One of Earthsong Lodge’s highlights is the cuisine. Chef Trevor’s philosophy on food is quite simple: the perfect dish consists of perfect ingredients simply cooked. Using local produce and following the seasons, Chef Trevor takes great pleasure in concocting delicious home-made cuisine for his guests.
Whilst on Great Barrier Island, there are numerous outdoor activities for guests to partake in: mountain biking, abseiling, rock climbing, snorkelling, horse-riding, fishing, diving, surfing, sailing, and of course trekking.
