Housed in a former bank minutes from the Piazza del Duomo, Boscolo Milano may be in the most traditional of buildings and the most classic of locations, yet it is surely one of Milan’s most futuristic hotels.
Styled by a Milanese architect and designer, Boscolo Milano is funky, bright and, in some places, outlandish; more like a nightclub than a hotel. Not for the faint-hearted, its location is as vibrant as its décor, and you certainly feel part of the action here.
The Boscolo Milano has 154 rooms, comprising Superior, Deluxe, Junior Suites and nine themed luxury suites. As you’d expect, technology is all state-of-the-art, and furniture and furnishings are all high-fashion – expect flat screen wall-mounted televisions alongside collector’s items and designer fittings.
The Boscolo Milano’s central Lounge Bar is open 24 hours a day with ‘optical effects’ in its design that may well cause you to ask yourself whether or not that last cocktail was entirely necessary. In one corner of the lounge is the Champagnerie. The Oltremare Restaurant is no less eclectic in look and feel, and specialises in local fish dishes.
Finally, if you thought you could retreat to the spa (Milan’s largest) to relax and escape from the assault on your senses, you will find that the party continues down here: the walls bubble with kaleidoscopic orbs and the pool, sauna and Turkish bath are open until midnight.
