Banjaar Tola

Central India

Situated on the banks of the Banjaar River, Banjaar Tola overlooks the lush forests and grassy meadows of Kanha National Park.

With just 18 lightweight tented suites spread over two elegant camps, this property has its own unique identity and is a great destination for wildlife enthusiasts who want to feel close to nature. The luxurious tents have been designed with pressed bamboo wall panels, gorgeous bamboo floors, and locally crafted furniture hewn from local timber. The textiles used throughout have been thoughtfully designed, with rich block-printed Madhya Pradesh cottons and silks. The huge glass doors, which open up onto your veranda, beckon the Indian sky into your suite.

Savour the saffron flavours of Indian cooking, prepared by the hands of the lodge’s dedicated chef. Guests are asked what meals they'd like prepared in addition to the many dishes already on offer, and dining is often followed by local Indian tribes performing traditional dances.

Why we recommend Banjaar Tola

Having stayed at most of the safari lodges in Central India, what I really like about Banjaar Tola is that each guest suite is well shaded by high quality canvas and elevated on timber plinths for sweeping views of the Banjaar River and surrounding sal forest. Inside, the luxurious tents have been designed with pressed bamboo wall panels, bamboo floors, and locally crafted furniture for a very relaxing and authentic feel.
