Arkaba Station

South Australia

Located at the foot of the Elder Range in the vast, ancient landscape of the Flinders Ranges National Park, Arkaba Homestead offers a luxury escape amid the wilderness. A former sheep station, this private wildlife conservancy gives guests the opportunity to immerse themselves in the outback.

Dating back to 1851, the renovated homestead has five guestrooms, four within the building, and a coachman’s cottage in the garden. Rooms are decorated in rustic-chic style and adorned with paintings from a local wildlife artist. The en-suite bathrooms have freestanding baths and walk-in showers.

Meals are held around a communal table and feature hearty South Australian produce with a native twist, complemented by a South Australian wine list.

The homestead offers complimentary experiences including bird and wildlife watching, 4WD and walking safaris, cultural tours, geological tours, and family nature adventures. There are additional paid tours, including air safaris and helicopter tours.
