Amankora has created a series of five lodges, providing a circular pilgrimage through the Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan‘s breathtaking central and western valleys. The lodges are all unique and allow you to experience the best Bhutan has to offer whilst not compromising on the level of accommodation. Your personal guide will help you to discover and explore many of Bhutan’s lesser visited monasteries and villages, enriching your experience of the Kingdom.
The journey usually begins and ends at Paro and along your journey you will encounter exceptionally high levels of service, the classic Aman attention to detail and a personalised experience tailored to your preferences. Each lodge comprises of luxuriously spacious suites and dedicated spa areas for unwinding after a day trekking and exploring. The food at each lodge is a fusion of Bhutanese, Asian and Western dishes, accompanied by a remarkable wine list.
Amankora Gangtey is an 8 suite lodge set in the remote wilderness of the Phobjikha Valley and is an ideal place to explore between Amankora Punakha and Amankora Bumthang. The location of the lodge offers magical views across the bird-strewn gorge and to the empowering Gangtey Goemba, a 16th century monastery. From the lodge you can enjoy some wonderful day trekking through the breathtaking wildlife sanctuary of the Phobjikha Valley. On return from trekking, there are two wonderful spa rooms for some well deserved pampering.
Lightfoot Travel provides tailor-made itineraries that include daily tours and excursions, restaurant recommendations and bookings, and can incorporate Gangtey into a greater Bhutan holiday. Take a look at Trekking Through the Land of the Thunder Dragon as an example of a bespoke itinerary that we can create for you.
