Abaca Testimonials

Hi Keira,

Thanks very much, feel like we’ve been away for weeks!

I have nothing but praise for Abaca.  If you are a fan of small boutique hotels it is the perfect place to go for a quiet relaxing family holiday.  With only 9 bedrooms, staff of 55, personal butler for each room, incredible food, totally bespoke menu for the kids, amazing kids playroom, spa, gym (obviously not used, but there all the same), free cocktails for us, free ice cream for the kids….I could go on and on.

The best thing is the food.  The chef used to work in HK for 5 years, and is clearly passionate.  Australian guy called Pat, he really knows how to cook.  He would come and consult the kids menu before every meal, and cook all their meals himself.  Our food was excellent.  Homemade pizza and bread in their pizza oven.  Fresh pasta, amazing seafood.  Really faultless, and I really love food, and am pretty critical!

All the staff were brilliant.  Relaxed, friendly, helpful and efficient.  They seemed to genuinely love having the children around, carrying them everywhere and plying them with cold jasmine scented flannels and homemade sorbets and ice creams.  Spoilt for life.  The only complaint!!

I woke up every morning grateful, and will definitely go back next year. Enough raving?!

Many thanks,
