The Chedi Andermatt Information
- Location & Getting There:
The Chedi Andermatt sits in the heart of the Urseren Valley, amid the charm and peace of Andermatt Village. Zurich Airport is 1.5 hours by car or 2.5 hours by train.
The 101 spacious guest rooms and suites at The Chedi have been designed by award-winning architect Jean-Michel Gathy to combine the best of alpine and Asian décor. Traditional materials such as warm woods, soft leather, and natural stone create intimate and striking spaces with ensuite bathrooms, flat screen TVs, fireplaces, and captivating views of the Swiss Alps, Andermatt Village, or Schöllenen Gorge.
Inside, the views are just as spectacular, with painted murals inspired by 17th century European artist, Peter Paul Rubens, adding a romantic touch to selected spaces, a striking contrast to the sleek décor.
Generous and flexible room designs range from 52 to 55 square metres. For even more capacious accommodation, the Deluxe Suites, Gemsstock Suite, and Furka Suite offer up to 330 square metres, three bedrooms, kitchen and dining facilities, plus a private spa. Privacy and luxury at their very best.
With guaranteed snowfall in the winter and rising temperatures in the summer, Andermatt is an exceptional destination through all four seasons.
Skiers and snowboarders will love the precarious peaks of one of Europe’s finest winter sports destinations. Ride the cable car to the top of Gemsstock Mountain, nearly 3,000 metres high, or take a leisurely run along the sloping curves of Nätschen Mountain. Wide-open slopes and deep powder are sure to delight.
When temperatures rise, the Urseren Valley offers a plethora of alpine walks and mountain treks as well as challenging terrain for mountain bikers and cyclists. Bike or hike while taking in the captivating panoramas of peaks and valleys with stunning glaciers cropping up in between. On flatter terrain the 18-hole Andermatt Swiss Alps Golf Course offers a challenging day of swings and putts, while fishing aficionados can cast a line in the local lakes.
There are museums to be explored, bridges to be traversed, and traditional horse-drawn trips over the pass. For even deeper relaxation, luxuriate in the 2,400 square metre spa, rotating between the hot tub, steam bath, and sauna, while awaiting a relaxing massage.
Children are welcome at The Chedi Andermatt.
