Location & Getting There

The National Geographic Explorer is a state-of-the-art expedition ship, a flagship of Lindblad Expeditions’ impressive fleet which provides sailings from Ushuaia in Argentina to the Antarctic Peninsula, as well as Falklands & South Georgia as part of longer cruises.

The ship offers 81 cabins and suites across three of their six decks for up to 148 passengers. There are twin/double and solo traveller cabins that host beds arranged as twins or queens, vanity-desks, in-house movies and flatscreen LCD TVs. The 6 suites have separate sitting areas with lounge chairs, with balconies featured in some.

Guests can explore the Polar Regions with the ship's 13 zodiac boats and 36 double kayaks available, to view magnificent mountains, towering icebergs, ice formations that make up the dramatic Antarctic landscape as well as search for leopard seals. Other activities include kayaking in protected waters, paddling around icebergs and walking on shore amidst thousands of penguins.

Separate excursions ashore can be arranged for families or children, depending on their ages. Young cruisers are able to learn from Naturalists how to drive a Zodiac, go wildlife viewing through a telescope, join special kids-only meals as well as photo sessions.
