National Geographic Orion, owned and operated by Lindblad Expeditions, is a purpose built, state-of-the-art expedition ship designed to explore Antarctica as well as various interesting tropical destinations such as Borneo, Indonesia and the Kimberley in Western Australia.
With only 53 cabins for up to 102 passengers, all cabins are spacious with ample room for storage and relaxation. Categories one and two offer a sitting area and large oval windows, while those above are larger with picture windows and separate sitting areas. Some cabins have balconies for the best views of the ocean from the comfort of the cabin.

Orion’s ice-strengthened hull enables extensive polar exploration, while her size allows for access to remote areas inaccessible to the larger cruise ships. She is fully equipped with zodiacs, kayaks and even an ROV to explore the oceans and feed-back live video streams from the depths. The expedition team comprises of expert naturalists, scientists, guest speakers, photography instructors plus National Geographic photographers to truly enhance their passengers’ experience.
Children are welcome but there are no specific facilities available.
