This is a varied and thrilling itinerary taking in the finest experiences and the best that South Africa has to offer.

Soak up the sun on the magnificent Cape Town beaches, sample fine wines with a knowledgeable guide in the Winelands, enjoy some downtime at Birkenhead House perched on the Hermanus cliffs above the whale watching paradise of Walker Bay (ideal time for whale watching is June through December), followed by exceptional game viewing in the Sabi Sands.

Day: 1 Arrive in Cape Town

On arrival into Cape Town you will collect your hire care and drive to one of the city’s most style boutique hotels, Kensington Place, at the foot of Table Mountain. Have the day to relax and enjoy the convenient proximity to the city, the beaches and the Table Mountain Cableway. Explore the narrow little streets lined with original Cape Buildings, many housing museums and art galleries as well as lively sidewalk cafes and highly acclaimed restaurants

Day: 2 Cape Town

Today you have the day to enjoy all that Cape Town has to offer. Optional recommended activities include a visit the V&A Waterfront, make a journey over to Robben Island and perhaps enjoy the views of Cape Town from the top of Table Mountain. Return to Kensington Place for a relaxing dip in the pool before dinner at one of the city’s many restaurants.

Day: 3 Cape Town

With some of the fantastic Cape Town beaches a short drive away, enjoy long walks along Noordhoek Beach, some time to sample some of the fantastic restaurants in Camps Bay or visit the African penguin colony at Boulders Beach.

Day: 4 Cape Town – The Winelands

Today you will drive to Stellenbosch (also known as Eikestad or Town of Aaks) in the heart of the Winelands. Surrounded by more than 200 wineries, this youthful university town is truly the most important of all South African wine routes. The Delaire Graff Estate & Spa is situated within the Delaire Graff Wine Estate on the highest crest of the magnificent Helshoogte Mountain Pass, just 9km from Stellenbosch.

Day: 5 The Winelands

Today you will enjoy a private Winelands tour with your own guide. The tour unfolds at tour preferred pace and takes you on a scenic route through superb mountain ranges, vineyards and Cape Dutch homesteads. Enjoy visiting wineries in Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and Paarl, as well as the opportunity to taste chocolate, olive oil and cheese.

Day: 6 The Winelands

Day to explore Stellenbosch and the surrounds, as well as sampling some of the award-winning restaurants in the area. Return to the Delaire Estate for some of spot of wine tasting at your hotel, or one of their legendary spa treatments.

Day: 7 The Winelands – Hermanus

Today you will drive to the town of Hermanus, originally founded in the early 1800s. This charming town has earned the status of being the best land-based whale watching destination in the world. Southern Right whales visit Walker Bay from June through to December when the world’s only Whale Crier blows his kelp horn to alert the town when the whales are spotted. Your stay this evening with be at the lovely Birkenhead House, perched high atop the Hermanus cliffs.

Day: 8 Hermanus

Highly recommended to visit the “Hermanus Wine Wander” in the nearby beautiful Hemel and Aarde (Heaven and Earth) Valley, which introduces guests to the most southerly estates in Africa, including Hamilton Russell, Bouchard Finlayson and Ataraxia.

Enjoy some time relaxing at Birkenhead House, known for its spectacular views with private plunch pools overlooking the ocean.

Day: 11 Hermanus – Cape Town – Johannesburg – Sabi Sands

Today you will drive back to Cape Town airport in time for your flight to Johannesburg. On arrival into Johannesburg you will be flown to Sabi Sands and onto Singita Lebombo Lodge. You will have the remainder of the day at leisure to explore the surroundings or just relax.

Day: 12 Sabi Sands

Singita Lebombo Lodge is positioned on a sheer cliff top overlooking the Nwanetsi River, on an exclusive 15,000 hectare concession east of Satara, within the remote eastern boundary of the world famous Kruger National Park. Enjoy two safaris a day as well as walking safaris.

Day: 13 Sabi Sands

Your days spent at Singita Lebombo will revolve around the game drives and optional game walks to see the “Big 5” with highly skilled rangers and trackers.
