South Africa offers much to enjoy, from penguins waddling on the Cape, wine tastings in beautiful vineyards, spotting The Big 5 in sprawled out National Parks and mind-blowing landscapes. For travellers short on time, there is still much you can (and should!) see and leave the country with memorable experiences. During this week-long itinerary, you will have the opportunity to observe The Big 5 in their natural habitat, followed by relaxing evenings in your beautiful lodge, and explore the buzzing city of Cape Town along with its beautiful landscapes and charming districts.

Day 1: Arrival into Johannesburg and onwards to Skukuza

Upon arrival into Johannesburg, you will be met by a representative who will help you continue your flight to Skukuza Airport. Once in Skukuza, you will be driven to Sabi Sabi Bush Lodge.

You will have the remainder of the day at leisure to explore the surroundings or just relax.

Day 2 - 3: Exploring the bush

During the next two days, you will get an early start in order to make the most of the fascinating sights and wildlife that can be found in the region. You will also have time to relax in your lodge and make the most of its facilities, or choose to go on night safaris.

Finish off the day with a nice glass of wine whilst enjoying a beautiful sunset.

Day 4: From Skukuza to Cape Town

Before making your way to Cape Town, you will have time for one last game drive before being transferred to the airport to catch your onwards flight.

Upon arrival into Cape Town, you will be met by a representative who will drive you to beautiful The Twelve Apostles Hotel. You can opt to relax by the pool or start your explorations on this vibrant city.

Day 5: Discovering Cape Town

Today you will experience the most exciting city tour around Cape Town, which starts off by a climb to Table Mountain to see some of the most breathtaking views in town. Afterwards, your guided tour will take you to Signal Hill, a famous landmark where you can see a wonderful landscape of Table Bay harbour and the city.

On the way back, you will pass the Malay Quarter, Castle of Good Hope, Houses of Parliament and the Company Gardens. If you are still full of energy, head to Sea Point and Camp’s Bay or Victoria and Alfred Waterfront or other attractions nearby.

Day 6: Cape Peninsula

Start off your day exploring Cape Peninsula, previously known as Cape of Storms a moniker penned by Bartolomeu Dias, first European explorer to reach the cape. The visit starts before you even reach the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve – along the way admire some of South Africa’s most magical landscapes, such as Hout Bay and Chapman’s Peak Drive. If you haven’t gotten your dose of animal sighting, you can make your way to Seal Island, to view seals and sea birds at Duiker Island.

Once you reach Cape Point, which is located at the southwest tip of the reserve, prepare for some amazing sights – the most powerful lighthouse in the world, which flashes electric light of 19 million candle power across the ocean, penguin colony at Boulders Beach and a historical place in Simon’s Town. The day will be end at one of the best botanic gardens of the world, Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.

Day 7: Departure

Today, you will depart Cape Town and be transferred to the airport to catch your return flight home.
