On Foot – Hikers and Walkers

Head to Australia on a walking holiday and explore some of its most spectacular landscapes. Spend you time getting to know the areas, learning history and tips off your knowledgeable guides and hosts. Walk around lush mountains, unforgettable coastlines and vibrant culinary producing regions.

Stay in luxurious lodges to unwind and re-energise for your next day’s activities, be they in the West of Australia or on Tasmania.

Day 1-3: Arrival in Perth - Margaret River

After your arrival into Perth you will be driven three hours to your first accommodation, Cape Lodge on Margaret River. Undoubtedly one of Australia’s finest gourmet hotel experiences, Cape Lodge is a private boutique hotel sat within 40 acres of stunning land, including its own vineyard. This gives walkers the ultimate luxury to return to after a long day out on the Cape to Cape Track.

This is a must-do walk which stretches from Cape Naturaliste to Cape Leeuwin, along a windswept limestone ridge. For those of you wanting something less challenging, there are many walks through the iconic Western Australia’s wildflowers and coastal health, often along limestone ridges and through forests of hardwood.

Day 4-6 Perth - Sydney - Lord Howe Island

You willl spend the next day travelling to Sydney where you will stay for one night. The following day you will fly to Lord Howe Island in New South Wales and to your next accommodation, Capella Lodge where you will stay for the next 3 nights. This lodge is undoubtedly the island’s premium accommodation offering a stylish and sophisticated place to recover and rest after a long day of hiking. With stunning views over the ocean and mountains, the lodge also offers exceptional local cuisine.

Whilst here be sure to trek up Mount Gower (a tough but rewarding 8 hour guided hike) or for the less adventurous, head to the ocean for a relaxing day out.

Day 7-9: Lord Howe Island - Sydney - Hobart Airport - Saffire Lodge

Saffire is a new luxury sanctuary on Tasmania’s East coast. Sophisticated and chic, Saffire will provide a memorable stay and gives you exactly what you need after a day of walking. Fully equipped with an excellent spa and offering stunning views overlooking the Hazards Mountains and the waters of Great Water Bay, the whole place is breathtaking.

Walk Hazards Beach Circuit including Wineglass Bay Lookout and to Great Oyster Bay, and take a swim along the way. If you are looking for something more tame, walk from the lodge to Cape Tourville lighthouse, which offers stunning views of the Tasman Sea and glimpses of Wineglass Bay.

Day 10-12: Hobart - Brisbane - Spicers Peak Lodge

On arrival in South East Queensland you will be transferred to Spicers Peak Lodge. Located at the peak of the ridge, this lodge has stunning views out over the World Heritage listed main National Park. As Queensland’s highest mountain lodge it is surrounded by many memorable walking tracks.

Some we suggest are Mount Cordeaux Track which takes approximately two and a half hours, or a rainforest circuit ending at a breathtaking lookout.

Day 13: Departure

Today you will be driven back to the international airport to catch your flight back home.
