Day: 1 Arrival into NamibRand Reserve, Namibia

Today you will be met at Windhoek Airport and after clearing customs and immigration you will be transferred by light aircraft to Wolwedans Dune Lodge, your accommodation.

Day: 2 Exploring NamibRand Nature Reserve

A three night stay at Wolwedans is needed just to fit in all the fantastic activities on offer as well as giving you some time to absorb the enormity and beauty of your surroundings. Scenic drives allow you to explore vast stretches of undisturbed nature. Learn about the mystery of the fairy circles found in the area and enjoy a full day drive with a picnic lunch to give you a real feel for the NamibRand Nature Reserve.

Day: 3 Hot Air Ballooning over NamibRand Nature Reserve

A special optional activity from Wolwedans Dune Lodge is the hot air ballooning which is not to be missed. As you soar silently over the ancient desert you get to see unforgettable and breathtaking 360 degree vistas. Admire the stark beauty of the NamibRand followed by a champagne breakfast at your landing spot.

Day: 4 From Namib Rand Reserve to Kunene River

Today you will be transferred in a light aircraft from Wolwedans to Serrra Cafema located in the extreme north-west of Namibia on the banks of the Kunene River in the Hartmann Valley close to the border with Angola. This is one of the most remote camps in Southern Africa. You will have the afternoon to relax to take in your new vistas and surroundings.

Day: 5 Quad bike excursions

Activities at Serra Cafema revolve around the exploration of surrounding Namib Desert sands and the lush oases along the river. Informative nature drives and carefully guided quad bike excursions through the fragile dunes allow you to experience the true Namib.

Day: 6 Exploring the Kunene River

An activity not to be missed is boating on the Kunene River. This gives you the opportunity to venture through the lush riverside oases with the chance to see crocodiles and water birds, not seen before in the lunar landscape of Namibia. Walking in the remote mountain and river valleys is also a highlight, as is a visit to a Himba settlement – one of the last true nomadic people in Africa.

Day: 7 From Kunene River to Etosha National Park

Today you will be flown from the Kunene River to Little Ongava, located in the Ongava Game Reserve which shares a boundary with Etosha National Park. The park is Namibia’s premier wildlife destination and one of Africa’s largest game reserves. Large herds of wildlife teem around waterholes and the endless plains offer breathtaking views.

Day: 8 Wildlife viewing at Etosha National Park

Activities at Little Ongava revolve around day and night wildlife viewing drives, visiting hides that overlook waterholes and walks with experienced guides. A hide at the camp waterhole provides superb photographic opportunities. The Ongava Game Reserve features all the characteristic wildlife of the area, with both the desert-adapted black and white rhinos to be spotted as well as lion.

Day: 9 Departure

Today after an early morning game drive you will leave Little Ongava and be flown to Windhoek in time for your international flight.
