Day 1: Arrive in Yangon

On arrival in Yangon International Airport, you’ll be met by your guide and transferred to your hotel.

When evening draws in, we’ll head to Shwedagon pagoda which, at this time of day, becomes illuminated by the sky. After watching the sun set we’ll pick up some local snacks and amble towards to night market.

Day 2: Yangon - Lashio - Hsipaw

After breakfast at the hotel we’ll transfer you to the airport for your flight to Lashio. Your guide will greet you and escort you on your drive through Shan state to Hsipaw.

In the late afternoon you’ll be taken on a leisurely walk through the panoramic scenery of paddy fields, Shan villages, local schools and monasteries, while hearing about the local life and industries such as cigar rolling and bamboo weaving.

Day 3: Hsipaw

Today you’ll continue by boat towards Hsipaw town, stopping on the way to see one of the most colourful tribes in Shan State.

The Palaung people are famous for their tea plantations and traditional costumes. We’ll have a simple lunch here in between walking through the enchanting villages, fields and forest.

Day 4: Hsipaw - Naung Cho - Mandalay

After breakfast it’s time for a train journey through the Shan mountains and crossing the mighty Gokteik Viaduct, constructed in 1901 and once the second highest railway bridge in the world.

The ride will take you through awesome mountain scenery and small villages and towns. When we arrive at Naung in the early afternoon a private car will take you to Mandalay.

In the evening you’ll visit the top of Mandalay hill for unbeatable views over the Mandalay fort.

Stay: Rupar Mandalay

Day 5: Mandalay - Yandabo

Today you’ll set off on a motorbike tour which takes you through fresh markets, lively neighbourhoods and into the true countryside where villagers go about daily rituals that have remained unchanged for decades.

We’ll amble through a typical Myanmar village, learning about life and the local crops. After a snack stop we’ll return to the hotel.

Stay: Yandabo Home

Day 6: Yandabo - Pakkoku - Bagan

This morning we’ll have breakfast before exploring the pottery village of Yandabo, historically recognised for the signing of the Yandabo Treaty between the British and Royal Burmese Household of Ava in 1826.

You’ll then be met by your Bagan guide for a bike ride passing through remote villages. Next, a short car ride will take you to Kyauk Gu Ohnmin cave temple, before you’re transported by boat to Bagan.

Those who don’t like cycling can visit Pakkoku’s local slipper factory and take a private boat (including lunch on board) to Kyauk Gu Ohnmin cave temple.

Day 7: Bagan

A full day tour by car with an experienced guide through Bagan will show you the best temples in the area.

You’ll start the day climbing a pagoda for impressive views over the region. From here your guide will escort you to other amazing temples such as the Ananda, Dhammayangyi, Sulamani, and Thatbyinnyu, before lunch at a local restaurant.

At around 4pm you’ll continue by horse cart to a pagoda for sunset drinks.

Stay: Bagan Lodge

Day 8: Bagan - Heho - Inle Lake

After breakfast we’ll transfer you to the airport for your flight to Heho.

Here, mountain bikes will await you for your 4-5 hour cycle to Indein. You’ll speed through Pa O villages and over the lake and Shan countryside.

Lunch will be served at a local village before you’re picked up by private motorboat and taken to your accommodation.

Day 9: Inle Lake

An adventure awaits as you kayak through the rural villages of Shan state.

You’ll see the famous weaving centre of the Intha people, beautiful nature and floating gardens. We’ll stop at a village to meet the villagers.

Lunch will be served at an Intha house, which is where you’ll leave your kayaks behind and return by motorboat to the hotel.

Stay: Sanctum Inle Lake

Day 10: Inle Lake

After breakfast we’ll embark on a day’s trek to visit one of the most distinctive hill tribes from Shan State – the Pa O.

You’ll get to know life within the Pa O, talk with the monks and try on their traditional dress (optinal!). A traditional lunch, offering dishes such as ginger soup and pumpkin leaf salad will be served. You’ll then take an afternoon walk with stunning views of the lake and plantations before boarding the boat back to the hotel.

Day 11: Inle Lake - Heho - Yangon

After breakfast we’ll transfer you to Heho airport for your flight to Yangon.

On arrival, your guide will meet you for a half day pampering and shopping tour. This is your chance to dine at Sharky’s restaurant and to have a relaxing foot massage by blind or deaf people. Our specially selected shopping guide will give you tips on the best places to buy souvenirs.

Money spent, the guide will transfer you to Yangon International Airport for your departure flight.
