Finally, you will end your holiday with a stay at the beautiful and relaxing Amankila in Bali.
Day 1: Arrival into Java
Upon arrival in Java, you will be met by a Lightfoot Travel representative who will take you by private transfer to the luxurious Amanjiwo. Overlooking the world’s largest Buddhist sanctuary, and boasting a picturesque backdrop of the Menorah Hills, the Amanjiwo is the ideal location to start your holiday in Indonesia.
Enjoy a private sunset dinner overlooking the spectacular Javanese landscape with incredible views of the Kedu Plain and the sacred temple of Borobudur. Get a taste of the amazing scenery from the comfort of the property as you prepare for the following days of cultural immersion.
Day 2: Visit of Borobudur temple
You will start your day with a morning hike to the ancient Candi Selogriyo temple, followed by a tour of Borobudur in the afternoon. Built in the 9th century, Borobudur is one of the most important archaeological sites in the world. On par with Ankor Wat in Cambodia, Borobudur showcases some of the strongest Indian influences on the religion, culture, and architecture of Southeast Asia. Take the afternoon to meander through the well preserved temples, altars and monuments that make Borobudur world famous. If you are looking for a unique way to explore Borobudur, an elephant ride can be arranged.
Day 3: Cultural immersion
Take this day to partake in whichever type of activity you fancy. There are still many temples in the surrounding area that you may have missed from the day before, including Gedong Songo, Prambanan and the Dieng Plateau. The temples provide perfect opportunity to trek through the Javanese outdoors and take in the fantastic scenery.
Nearby, Yogayakarta provides many opportunities to immerse yourself in the traditional Javanese culture as you explore the markets and temples of the town. There is also a golf course nearby for those who may want a truly unique golf experience set against a backdrop of rice paddies.
Day 4: From Java to Ubud
In the morning you will take a visit to Borobudur for a private breakfast next to sacred sculptures on Dagi Hill. You will then be transferred by private car to Jogyakarta, in time for your flight to Denpasar, where you will be taken by private transfer to the peaceful Amandari in Ubud. Located in central Bali, amidst the soft green curves of rice terraces and above the rushing water of the Ayung River, the Amandari provides a unique setting from which to explore the cultural richness of Ubud, Bali’s artistic centre, as well as the mountainous region to the north.
Day 5: Discovering the Ayung River
Today you will be able to immerse yourself in the surrounding countryside by taking an early morning trek across the Ayung River, followed by a picnic breakfast. Take the rest of the day to trek along the Ayung Valley and through the lush rice paddies. If you are in the mood for an adrenaline rush, white-water rafting down the Ayung River can be arranged.
After a long day of hiking, your body is sure to be craving a soothing massage. Spend the evening getting pampered at the relaxing and luxurious Amandari Spa.
Day 6: From Ubud to Moyo
Enjoy your breakfast at the property before transferring to Denpasar airport in time for your seaplane to the nature and marine reserve of Moyo Island. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to the secluded hideaway of Amanwana, where you will be staying in a luxurious jungle tent for the next 4 nights. Set in a pristine and exotic location, Amanwana is perfect for exploring the natural environment with jungle treks and trips to private sandy bays.
Spend the rest of the day on an excursion to a local waterfall to take a swim in the lush jungle setting.
Day 7 - 9: Free time in Moyo
Over the next several days, you can enjoy a wide variety of exciting island activities. Scuba diving, game fishing, snorkelling and windsurfing are all options to take full advantage of the pristine ocean. Take a trip on one of Amanwana’s luxury vessels for a sunset or starlight cruise. The boats are also available to drop guests off on a private beach for a secluded luxury picnic.
Day 10: From Moyo to Bali
This morning you will board a seaplane back to Denpasar, where you will catch your connection to the gorgeous Amankila in Manggis. Mount Agung provides a dramatic backdrop for Amankila, a secluded resort overlooking the Lombok Strait. Amankila is the ideal base to explore the cultural diversity and rich history of East Bali, a region of temples, palaces, rice paddies and ancient ruins. This tranquil locale offers a host of activities from mountain biking and diving, to cultural excursions in ancient temples and water palaces.
Day 11 - 13: Bali
Over the next few days, take some time to explore the diverse region around the Amankila. The activities are as numerous and diverse as the landscape, with options to go hiking on Mount Agung, whitewater rafting, or snorkelling.
After a long day out, take some time in the Amankila Spa to properly wind down with a relaxing Balinese aromatic massage. Tend to the tired muscles of your entire body with a foot reflexology session, or one of the many other Aman spa treatments.
