Day 1: Arrival into Delhi

On arrival into Delhi you will be met by a representative and driven to The Imperial Hotel where you will have the remainder of the day to relax.

Day 2: Exploring Delhi

Today your guide will meet you at the hotel to begin your private guided tour of the true melting pot which Delhi is. Explore the ancient culture of Old Delhi, with the bustling streets and bazaars which contrasts so colourfully with the grandeur and magnificence of the formal tree-lined avenues of Lutyens New Delhi. Your guide will take you to India’s largest mosque, Jami Masjid, built in the 17th century by Shah Jahan, this mosque is religiously important and historically significant. Enjoy the bustling streets and vibrant colours from the back of a traditional bicycle rickshaw.

Day 3: From Delhi to Agra

Early this morning you will be collected from your hotel and driven to the train station to board your train to Agra. The journey is approximately 2 hours.

Agra is home to the world famous Taj Mahal, it is a busy and chaotic city but amidst this chaos is one of the most beautiful buildings in the world. It is best to visit this magnificent monument both at dawn and at sunset to capture the best of the light.

Day 4: Visit the Taj Mahal

Early this morning you will be met at the hotel by your guide and make your way to the Taj Mahal. Savour the morning light which brings the beauty and craftmanship of this monument to light. The Taj Mahal was built as a memorial to the wife of Shah Jehan.

You will also be taken to Agra Fort which is the final resting place of Shah Jehan while being treated to beautiful views over the lake back to the Taj Mahal.

Day 5: From Agra to Jaipur

Today you will be driven 5hours to Jaipur via Fatehpur Sikri. This red sandstone city was built by the great Mughal Emperor Akbar as his capital from 1572 onwards. The site was abandoned when water supplies dried up and was never built on again. It is now a fantastic opportunity to see an almost perfectly preserved sixteenth century Mughal city.

Day 6: Jaipur explorations

Known as the ‘Pink City’ and the capital of Rajasthan, Jaipur is now a major, modern and commercial city with all the chaos and noise which goes with it. Enjoy a guided tour of the very atmospheric old city which is full of bustling markets and stallholders selling their wares. Your guide will take you to see the impressive city palace, the Jantar Mantar observatory which is incredibly interesting and then of couse the famous Amber Palace where you can ride an elephant up to the fort and the gigantic Jaigarh Fort. If you are interested in jewellery your guide can take you to a workshop to see the craftmanship for which the city is famous.

Day 7: From Jaipur to Jodhpur

Today you will be driven 6hours to Jodhpur. On arrival into Jodhpur you will be driven through the city passing bustling market scenes before reaching Raas, which is situated in the heart of the Walled City. The central location is ideal for stepping out of the hotel and exploring the labyrinth of lanes and markets which make up Jodhpur.

Day 8: Discovering Jodhpur

Today your guide will meet you at the hotel and you will start your tour of the city. You will be begin at the Meherangarh Fort, dramatically built into a cliff face on the edge of the Thar Desert. The fort and museum give a real insight into the wealth and lifestyle of the Rajput princes. Your guide will accompany you as you explore the local markets and the narrow alleyways. You may want to explore the spice markets for some delicious traditional spices to take home with you.

Day 9: Jodhpur to Udaipur

Today you will be driven to Udaipur which is a journey of approximately 5hours. On the way you have the opportunity to stop at Kumbhalgarh Fort and explore this dramatic citadel on foot. Make the most of the spectacular views across of the Aravali ranges – one of the most beautiful views in the region. You will then continue onto Udaipur and to Delwara which is in the countryside on the outskirts of Udaipur.

Stay: Raas Devigarh

Day 10: Visit of Udaipur

Today your guide will meet you at your hotel to take you on a guided tour of Udaipur. This tranquil city is dominated by the mesmerising City Palace overlooking Lake Pichola. The City Palace displays the extraordinairy wealth of the Udaipur Royal Family. Enjoy a delicious lunch overlooking the lake before making your way back to Devi Garh a journey of 45minutes.

Stay: Raas Devigarh

Day 11: Time at leisure in Udaipur

Today you will have a day at leisure to make the most of the fantastic facilities at Devi Garh, you can also walk into the village which surrounds Devi Garh to experience local life or explore Udaipur city on your own.

Day 12: Departure

Today you will be driven to Udaipur airport in time for your onward flight to Mumbai.
