A 15 day holiday to Argentina taking in some of the best that the country has to offer. Start your exciting holiday in Buenos Aires, the Paris of South America, for fine steak and tango before heading south to see the glaciers of the Perito Moreno National Park in Patagonia. You then make your way north to the breathtaking scenery of the Lake District, a region of alpine forests, glacial lakes and towering volcanoes. Continue your journey to Mendoza, the gastronomic capital of Argentina. Stay in a boutique winery for incredible wine and fine food, the region is home to many of the country’s top restaurants. A trip to Argentina must include a stay at the Iguazu Falls, for the Americas team, they easily beat Victoria and Niagara Falls!

Day 1: Arrival into Buenos Aires

Upon arriving at Buenos Aires airport,  you will be greeted by a representative who will transfer you to hip Palermo, a delightful district of boutiques and galleries, lively bars and excellent restaurants of course. Spend three nights at Nuss Hotel.

Day 2: Half day tour of Buenos Aires

Your guide will show you the highlights of Buenos Aires on a half day tour today. Take in the colourful Italian district La Boca, the cobbled streets of colonial San Telmo, past the Plaza de Mayo and on to the fascinating Recoleta Cemetery where Eva Peron is buried. We can tailor the day to your interests whether that by art, markets, history or food, there is so much to see and do.

Day 3: Day at leisure in Buenos Aires

Venture out into the city today to explore further at your own pace, it is a fairly easy city to explore with a good metro system, alternatively we can arrange a guide to show you around town. There are fascinating markets such as the Sunday flea market in San Telmo, foodie tours to try delicious chorizo sausages or freshly baked empanadas, wine tasting, cruises along the Tigre Delta or why not take a tango class if you’re feeling brave!

This evening you will be taken to Rojo Tango, the best show in town, at the exclusive and sophisticated Faena Hotel. A three-course dinner and return transfers are included.

Day 4: From Buenos Aires to El Calafate, Patagonia

Airport transfer this morning where you fly south to El Calafate in Argentine Patagonia. Find incredible landscapes of the snow-capped Andes, the plains of the Patagonian Steppe and the many glaciers of Los Glaciares National Park. Spend the next two nights at Casa Los Sauces.

Day 5: Discover El Calafate

Spend your day exploring Los Glaciares National Park with your private guide, starting off with a drive across the steppe before you reach a viewpoint with the spectacular 30-kilomotre long Prieto Moreno Glacier in the distance. Your guide will take you along the specially built walkways to get up close hoping to catch sight of huge blue-coloured chunks of ice calve into the waters of

Lake Argentino. An exhilarating two-hour mini trek on the glacier itself is included today.

Day 6: From El Calafate to Bariloche, Lake District

Today you will fly north to Bariloche in the heart of the Lake District, followed by a transfer to your hotel beautifully located on the shores of Nahuel Huapi. For those seeking a more remote experience we can offer a number of fantastic lodges and estancias such as Estancia Peuma Hue and Estancia Huechahue.

Day 7 - 8: Lake District

Today you have the opportunity to explore the Lake District. For the more independent traveller, it is an easy region to explore by rental car r 4×4 with a good road network to visit the many national parks, Andean villages and lakes. We can also arrange guides to take you across to pristine Isla Victoria for easy hikes and gourmet picnics or perhaps head up the ski lifts for super views of the Andes. For the more adventurous we can arrange world class trout fly-fishing, horse riding to remote estancias, kayaking and rafting the cool glacial rivers or skiing during the winter months of June to October.

Day 9: From Bariloche to Mendoza

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Mendoza. On arrival your guide will travel with you to your hotel in the heart of the Winelands. Spend three nights at charming Finca Adalgisa set within its own private winery.

Day 10: Wineries of Mendoza

Home of Malbec, Mendoza is famed for its fine wines and gourmet cuisine. Spend your day with an expert guide exploring the Lujan de Cuyo, Uco and Maipu Valleys to sample the fine wines of three of the top producers in the country. This afternoon a gourmet tasting lunch with wine pairings is included at a superb bodega restaurant, perhaps La Tupica or Ruca Malen.

Day 11: Day at leisure in Mendoza

Day to relax at your hotel or perhaps take bikes out to visit the small boutique wineries of the Chacas de Coria area where you are based. Alternatively we can arrange further wine and food outings, perhaps to blend your own wine or for something different head into the Andes. Here you will gain (cloud permitting!) fine views of the Andes, particularly Mt Aconcagua the highest mountain in the southern hemisphere. Hiking, horse riding and rafting are all possible day trips into the mountains.

Day 12: From Mendoza to Iguazu Falls

You will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Iguazu via Buenos Aires. Transfer to your hotel set within the National Park on the Argentine side of these magnificent falls, the Sheraton Iguazu Hotel, your home for the next two nights.

Due to the hotel’s fine location you are able to walk to the Argentine side of the falls and explore at your own pace. Wander along jungle trails to view the exotic flora and fauna before reaching the falls where you can stare down into the Devils Gorge from a panoramic vantage point.

Day 13: Iguazu Falls

This morning you will head to Brazil! Here you will continue you exploration of the falls on the Brazilian side. From here you are able to get a more panoramic view than the close up and personal view which you get on the Argentine side. With a walkway that descends past several overlooks to a catwalk over the falls, allowing guests to really get a sense of the power of the rushing water (prepare for a soaking if you choose to go all the way out). Afterwards you will be taken on an exhilarating jet boat safari for a completely different perspective of the falls – from below, beware, you will get wet!

Day 14: Depart

Airport transfer to either the Brazilian or Argentine airport, depending on whether you fly out of Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro or Buenos Aires respectively.
