Sheltered by the other Visayan islands including Bohol, this thin sliver of land is blessed year-round with tropical weather – all the better to enjoy its sun-drenched beaches and the sparking blue of the Tanon Straits. A wonderful holiday in the Philippines awaits.
Day 1 Arrive in Cebu
Arrive into Cebu Mactan’s International Airport where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Check-in and relax in the dreamy resort setting of Abaca.
Day 2 Bohol Day Trip
After an early breakfast today, you will be transferred to the pier for your ferry across to Bohol, a throbbing island-province with rolling terrains. As you drive through the scenic countryside, you’ll pass thick nipa palms, coconut plantations, and a friendly wave as you go.
Wind your way up to the Chocolate Hills, consisting of 1,268 grass-covered limestone domes which dry up during the summer and turn the area into rows of Hershey’s Kisses.
Make your way onwards to visit the tarsier sanctuary, stopping at the butterfly farm on the way to stretch your legs amongst the fluttering beauties. The tarsier one the world’s smallest mammal at only 100mm – you’ll be hard pressed to spot it on a trek through the natural foliage that it lives in.
It’s time for a break in the afternoon on the Loboc River, whilst enjoying a typical Boholano country lunch on one of the floating restaurants. A buffet spread is laid out while animated singers strike up a few tunes. Enjoy the lush landscape as you sail down the river, while children swim and play by the side or villagers row past in bankas.
At the end of the afternoon you will be transferred back to the pier for your ferry back to Cebu.
Day 3 Free at leisure
You have the day at leisure to relax in the wonderful settings of Abaca, enjoy a massage or venture out to Cebu City for a spot of shopping.
You might also wish to take up a city tour to see the city’s sights and historical landmarks such as Fort San Pedro, Mangellan’s Cross and Santo Nino Church which stand in rembrance of the country’s colonial history. Drive through the colourful Corbon Market and scenic Beverly Hills before finishing at the Chinese Taoist temple for the day. (cost not included)
