From Beach to Safari

A touch of adventure and a pinch of relaxation makes the perfect mix for a holiday!

Start off your much deserved holiday with Mauritius and its pristine beaches where you can laze around the beach or partake in fun activities; you choose your own pace. During the second half of your holiday, head over to Botswana, more specifically the Okavango Delta, the largest inland delta in the world, home to a profusion of wildlife.

Day 1: Arrival into Mauritius

Once you have made your way through immigration, you will be met by a representative and be transferred to your accommodation, The Residence Mauritius. Considered one of the country’s jewels, the hotel occupies a mile-long stretch of powdery beach, a heavenly location for your holiday.

Stay: The Residence Mauritius

Day 2 - 5: Relaxing in Mauritius

During your time in Mauritius, you can do as little or as much as you want! There are numerous watersports activities for you to enjoy (water skiing, wind surfing, snorkeling), laze by the beach or pamper yourself at the hotel’s CARITA Spa.

Stay: The Residence Mauritius

Day 6: From Mauritius to Johannesburg

Today, you will depart Mauritius and catch your flight to Johannesburg, where you will spend one night.

Stay: Johannesburg Intercontinental Airport Hotel

Day 7: From Johannesburg to Okavango Delta

The second leg of your holiday starts today, as you make your way to Botswana. Once you arrive in Maun Airport, you will catch a flight to the Okavango Delta.  Your accommodation for the next remainder of your stay is Kwando Kwara Camp, an intimate camp overlooking a secluded lagoon in the northern part of the Okavango Delta.

Stay: Kwando Kwara Camp

Day 8: Game drive in the Okavango Delta

Today, you will go on a game drive and discover the superb wildlife that lives in the Okavango Delta. You will be guided by a two team person (professional guide and tracker) ensuring that you don’t miss out on anything and giving out detailed explanations of the complex interrelations that exist throughout the natural world.

Stay: Kwando Kwara Camp

Day 9: Boat cruise

The boat experience is a soothing tonic, a contrast to the vigorous efforts of searching for mammals from a vehicle or on foot. Sit back and while away the hours, stopping to gaze at a multitude of spectacular birds and bathing elephant and enjoy the vistas of the river systems. However, don’t be surprised should the peace be shattered by the snort of a territorial hippo warning the boat of his presence! Double-decker boats are used to provide a better vantage point and offer a wonderful position to enjoy the waterways and their varied inhabitants.

Stay: Kwando Kwara Camp

Day 10: Nature walk

To truly appreciate the beauty of Botswana’s landscape, take a nature walk and discover the natural environment at your own pace. The slow pace of the walk and interpretative skills of your guide will open your eyes to a new and fascinating world.  Game walks are not hikes; they are slow comfortable strolls meant to provide you with a chance to experience the wilderness at a natural pace.

Stay: Kwando Kwara Camp

Day 11: Departure

Today, you will be transferred to the camp’s airstrip to catch your return flight home.
