Argentina, Brazil & Peru: A Coastal & Cultural Adventure

On this two week itinerary, you will discover three regions of South America equally enchanting, surprising and beautiful.

The first stop is Brazil. In Sao Paulo, delve deep into the countries cuisine and make the most of the world-renowned foodie haven. Enjoy the beauty of Paraty’s beaches and succumb to the charm – and nightlife – that Recife has to offer.

Argentina’s capital, Buenos Aires, is often described as the Paris of South America. The food and wine are delectable, the architecture is stunning and the culture rich.

Once you arrive in Peru, prepare to discover stunning landscapes and enjoy adventurous activities.

Day 1: Arrival

Upon arrival into Sao Paulo, you will be transferred to your accommodation, Casa Turquesa, located in the historical centre of Paraty.

The rest of the day is at leisure for you to explore the city.

Day 2: Day trip Paraty

After breakfast, you will be board a private schooner for your day excursion to Paraty from where you will explore the many beaches, secluded bays and islands in the region.

For lunch, we recommend an excellent little seafood restaurant in one of the bays.

Day 3: From Sao Paulo to Recife

Depart from Sao Paulo onwards to Recife. Your accommodation is Nannai Resort, perfectly located on the paradisiacal Muro Alto Beach. Make the most of the resort’s facilities and indulge in an afternoon by the beach or an excellent massage at the spa by L’Occitane.

Day 4: Day at leisure in Recife

The day is at leisure for you to explore the vibrant city of Recife. A detour to Olinda, a mere 6km away from Recife is recommended: Olinda is a charming and tranquil historic town.

Day 5: From Recife to Buenos Aires

Today, you will catch your flight to Argentina’s capital, Buenos Aires (flight via Sao Paulo). Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your accommodation, Legado Mitico Buenos Aires. Make the most of the rest of the day by visiting the surrounding area, the fashionable Palermo neighbourhood.

Day 6: Discovering Buenos Aires

Prepare for an all-day fiesta gaucha excursion at an estancia on the outskirts of Buenos Aires. Try out your equestrian skills before watching the experts show off theirs. During your excursion, you will also sample Argentina’s traditional empanadas as well as asado, chorizo sausage paired with Argentinian wines.

In the afternoon, partake in the gauchos’ time-honoured customs of folksong and dance.

Return to Buenos Aires in the evening.

Day 7: Day at leisure in Buenos Aires

Your day is at leisure.

We recommend a tour of La Recoleta, the city’s most exclusive neighbourhood (also where famed Evita Perron is buried) and a stroll through La Boca, the birthplace of Tango.

In the evening, enjoy a typically Argentina first-class meal before settling down for a two-hour Tango show.

Day 8: Day at leisure in Buenos Aires

Your day is at leisure.

Stroll through San Telmo, one of Buenos Aires’s oldest neighbourhoods and take in the authentic atmosphere, reminiscent of Cuba’s old Havana.

Day 9: From Buenos Aires to Cusco

Depart Buenos Aires, onwards to Peru’s Cusco (flight via Lima). You will be transferred to your next accommodation, Sol y Luna, in the heart of the Inca Valley.

Day 10: Day excursion to the Sacred Valley

Full day excursion at the Sacred Valley. The excursion starts off with a visit to Pisac, a picturesque town northeast of Cusco where merchants sell all sorts of handicrafts from textiles to ceramic goods. In the afternoon, you will visit the remarkable fortress of Ollantaytambo, built by the Incas.

Day 11: Day of rafting

Today, prepare for an adrenaline rush as you enjoy a full day of rafting on Urubamba River. En route, you will drive through the mountains towards the Sacred Valley of the Incas. After your descent down the river, you will sample the Andean cuisine in a traditional restaurant located on the riverside.

You will return to your hotel in the afternoon.

Day 12: From Cusco to Aguascalientes

After your check-out from Sol y Luna, you will make your way towards Machu Picchu. The journey starts with a 1.5 hours train ride and a trek to Winaywayna archaeological site, where you will have a picnic lunch. From there, continue onwards to Inti Punku for your first glimpse of Machu Picchu.

Once you have finished exploring the area, you will be transferred to your next accommodation, Inkaterra Machu Picchu, located in Aguascalientes.

Day 13: From Aguascalientes to Cusco

After breakfast, you will depart Aguascalientes and return to Cusco via the Vistadome Train, which takes you across some of Peru’s amazing landscapes.

Upon arrival in Cusco, your driver will take you to your accommodation.

Day 14 - 15: Days at leisure in Cusco

The next few days at are leisure for you to discover the beauty of Cusco.

Recommended activities include: Cusco Historic Center, Hiram Bingham Train, Plaza de Armas Planetarium, Cusco Cathedral.

Day 16: Departure

You will be transferred to the airport for your return flight.
