Tanzania’s western region is one of the most remote safari regions in Africa. Harder to reach, but all the more exciting, a trip to Western Tanzania is not just an encounter with wildlife, but also a voyage through time.

Day 1: Arrival

Upon arrival into Arusha Airport, Tanzania, you will be transferred to your accommodation, Nomad’s Chada Katavi Camp. A comfortable and stylish abode, Chada Katavi Camp aims to co-exist with the abundant wildlife that knocks at its tented doors. Elephants are frequent visitors and you won’t have to travel far to see the Tanzanian wildlife

Day 2 - 4: Katavi National Park - Nomad’s Chada Katavi Camp

Watch elephants up close, stroll along the river line and marvel as birds, crocodiles and hippos go about their daily business.

Flycamping – spending a night out under the stars – is a must do activity: listen to the animal sounds and watch the stars twinkle.

Day 5: Nomad’s Chada Katavi Camp – Greystoke Mahale

Depart Nomad’s Chada Katavi Camp en route to Greystoke Mahale, located on the shores of Lake Tanganyika.

Day 6 - 7: Mahale Mountains National Park – Greystoke Mahale

Overlooking the turquoise waters of Lake Tanganyika lies Greystoke Mahale, an area known for its chimps, which roam freely and nonchalantly. Observing these animals will amaze you as you discover how human like they can be.

Hiking the forest paths will lead you to hidden pools and waterfalls, a trail which will also introduce you to exotic birds and butterflies.

Day 8: Departure

Return to Arusha Airport onwards to international flight.
