Famed as one of the most exclusive resorts in the Swiss Alps, its spectacular location in the heart of the upper Engadin is centered around a beautiful lake.

The skiing is in several separate sectors, only one, Corviglia, is reachable directly from the resort. It is worth noting that St.Moritz’s clientele come here just as much for the shops and spas as they do for the skiing. The town is bursting with designer shops and state of the art facilities, but that is not to say the skiing is not on par.

In winter, the lake is used for spectator activities including horse and greyhound racing, show jumping, polo, golf and even cricket. The upper Engadin is superb for walking and cross-country skiing, with the famous Cresta Run – St. Moritz’s famous cross-country ski marathon.

St. Moritz’s accommodation is varied with many 5* hotels such as one of our all-time favourites Badrutt’s Palace Hotel, as well as a large number of luxury chalets. Chalet Chesetta is our top choice.

There are also many gourmet restaurants to choose from. Try out La Baracca for dinner for simple and original Swiss cuisine with Asian twists, and the best mountain lunch spot – El Paradiso.

St. Moritz’s Swiss Ski School is perfect if you’re on a family holiday. With multi-lingual teachers, they offer kids ski schools as well as private guides for adults. It is easy to organize childcare out there too, just contact the St Moritz Tourist Office.

Only 2hr 45mins from both Zurich and Innsbruck Airports, St. Moritz is well placed and unsurprisingly a top Alpine destination for family ski holidays.
