Made up of four villages, swanky 1850 has numerous luxurious chalets and hotels, many with ‘ski in, ski out’ locations making it some of the most sought-after accommodation in the Alps.
This luxurious Alpine resort caters for beginners and professionals alike. The three other villages below 1850 – Moriond, Courchevel Village and Le Praz – are slightly more low key and less expensive, without so much of the glitzy vibe about them.
The town of 1850 is packed full of ritzy hotels and 6 Michelin-starred restaurants and boasts an après-ski vibe to match. One of our favourite hotels is Hotel Le K2 and aside from the many (very expensive) restaurants to choose from in 1850, we reccommend you head down to Le Praz to the suitably fancy yet unpretentious Le Azimut. This is slightly more affordable, specializing in Foie Gras.
For family holidays there is plenty to choose from. With the superb ESF ski school on hand, the children can be out of your hands whilst you lunch in a spectacular mountain restaurant for the afternoon. There are plenty of gentle slopes and many chalet companies who run nurseries to free up your day.
As part of the Trois vallées region, the biggest connecting ski area in the world, the skiing is second to none, making it no surprise that Courchevelis frequently dubbed the best ski resort in Europe.
