Hailed as ‘Africa’s best kept secret’, Zambia lets you in on a side of Africa that remains somewhat unknown to the masses.
Zambia’s unique and unspoiled wilderness is home to some of the continent’s best national parks, walking safaris and rivers perfect for fishing. Though Zambia is known for its pristine landscapes and bush camps, it offers you the refuge of comfort amidst the wilderness, boasting several stylish luxury lodges.
The historic town of Livingstone is the perfect launch pad into the rest of Zambia. Follow in the footsteps of Africa’s wild at the South Luangwa National Park, one of the greatest wildlife sanctuaries in the world. The Luangwa River runs through the park forming oxbow lagoons, which supports huge concentrations of wildlife and is the place to see big game on foot. The safari guides here are some of the best in Southern Africa who are only too happy to share their incredible knowledge and help you spot the leapords in trees from afar.
Next, head over to the spectacular Victoria Falls and awaken your senses watching Mother Nature in action. Definitely one of the wonders you have got to see at least once in your lifetime, the picturesque beauty of the majestic falls will have your heart pounding. At 1708 metres wide, Victoria Falls is the most expansive curtain of water in the world and drops more than 100 metres into the gorge below. There are many activites to be done and one of the best ways to see the falls at different angles is with a helicopter tour.
Then, whet your appetite for adventure and get that adrenaline pumping by exploring the wild and untamed Zambezi River on a white water raft, tiger fishing or on a canoeing safari. The Lower Zambezi National Park is still relatively undeveloped, but it’s beauty lies in it’s absolute remoteness and pure wilderness of it all. The range of animals is not as large as the other big parks, but the oppurtunities to get close to the game wandering in and out of the Zambezi channels are spectacular. It is a great spot for fishing, and the river offers up plenty of healthy tiger fish and bream catches.
Whether you’re an adventure junkie, a safari lover, or looking to explore the undiscovered side of Africa, our experts are on hand with personalized advice to help design your own tailor-made Zambian itinerary.
