Praslin

Overview

Unesco-listed Praslin – an island of curvaceous coves, sweeping talcum powder beaches, and extraordinary coral reefs and marine life. Super-luxury resorts dot the coastline, while lush jungle, rugged granite hills and national parks make up the island’s interior.

Praslin is the second biggest island of the Seychelles and well suited for visitors looking for somewhere even more peaceful and secluded than Mahe.

Among our favourite beaches here are Anse Lazio, Anse La Blague and Anse Marie-Louise, all of which are truly idyllic tropical stretches, perfect for swimming and snorkeling. Envision low hanging palm trees, sipping a cool coconut juice and tilting your sunglasses down so as to revel in the brilliant blue water and there you have it!

Perhaps the most unique aspect of Praslin is its famous World Heritage site, Vallée de Mai, a nature sanctuary which is home to the rare coco de mer palms and dozens of other exotic plants and trees. As you hike through the jungle – Robinson Crusoe-style – keep your eyes peeled for rare birds including the black parrot, which is native to the Seychelles.

Whether planning a honeymoon, family holiday or quiet beach break, Praslin is the perfect destination for those who want to get away from it all and enjoy some luxury R&R.
