Northern Australia

Overview

Northern Australia is made up of big, open, dusy red plains, and the large sandstone formation known as Ayers Rock is the outback's most famous attraction.

Spend an unforgettable evening out in the vast openness with an authentic Australian ‘barbi’, and star gaze with an expert who will point out all the amazing constellations seen from the Southern hemisphere.

There are interesting aboriginal heritage sites to visit, and it’s fun to walk through the maze of caves and view the rock art – some dating back 50,000 years. Nearer the coast you can also experience some of the best game fishing in the world and there are abundant opportunities to see marine life such as dugongs (a manatee-type marine mammal), dolphins and sea turtles.
