Namibia

Overview

Namibia is a whole new world of hauntingly beautiful landscapes, diverse culture and rich African wildlife that will leave you in complete awe.

If nature, stillness, vast skies and expansive deserts make your heart beat a little bit faster, we think you’ll fall in love with Namibia. One of the most scarcely populated countries on earth, Namibia offers you some of Africa’s most memorable experiences.

You can spend days exploring the country’s vast landscapes, mesmerized by the Namib Naukluft – the world’s oldest desert, or soar over the haunting Skeleton Coast, soaking up the dramatically bewitching sights under the excellent guidance of the Schoeman brothers of Skeleton Coast Safaris. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience to see one of the most inhospitable, yet dramatically beautiful and completely wild places in the world.

Whilst on safari in Namibia, another must-see is Sossusvlei, located in the southern part of the Namib Desert. Here you will find the tallest red sand dunes in the world, which can rise to a staggering 330 metres and are truly astonishing. To get the best of the whole experience you really must get up early to see the vibrant colours of the dunes bursting into life as the morning sun wakes them up.

Another region, Damaraland, is home to the Namibia’s famous desert-adapted elephants and black rhino. These fascinating species can be found throughout the dramatic wild desert mountains between the desolate plains of the Skeleton Coast and the plateaux of Central Namibia. The little population there is made up mainly of the Damara people.

And lastly, Etosha National Park is one of the largest game reserves in Africa (the size of Holland!) with its endless pan of silvery-white sand and surrounding bush. Etosha is ideal for self-drive holidays, and is easy to get around as the parks all have good roads and sign posts. Alternativley, professional safari guides can be organised at one of our exclusive private camps or lodges.

Whether you are an explorer, a nature lover or just looking for a once in a life time holiday experience, our experts are on hand with personalised advice to help design your own tailor-made Namibian itinerary.
