Lake Malawi

Malawi, otherwise known as the warm heart of Africa, is home to the third-largest and second deepest lake in Africa, and the ninth-largest in the world.

The country is truly stunning with the crystal clear waters of Lake Malawi, rolling hills, white-sand beaches, and friendly people. You can go on a safari within the country or neighbouring Zambia, and then finish your holiday with a few days on the lake. It’s perfect for relaxing, snorkeling with thousands of species of cichlids, fishing, walks, kayaking, water skiing, wakeboarding, bird watching, village visits, or you can do nothing but sit back and look out onto the vast waters of the mighty Lake.

The nickname for Lake Malawi is "The Lake of Stars" which was given by David Livingstone, after the lights from the lanterns of the fishermen in their dug-out canoes that resemble stars in the sky from a distance. We love the romance of it all!
