It was Jo’s love of travel and adventure that brought her to the Far East five years ago while on a ‘grown-up gap year’. After soaking up the history of Ho Chi Minh city, culture of Siem Reap, temples of Laos and nightlife of Bangkok, she found herself in Singapore and decided to make it her home.
Before joining Lightfoot Travel as Content Editor, British-born Jo spent 20 years as a journalist and editor on women’s magazines and newspapers in London, Dubai and Asia. Her roles enabled her to do lots of travel; from chasing pop stars in Japan, visiting Mayan ruins in Mexico, white water rafting in Australia and mingling with celebrities on LA’s most glitzy rooftops.
However, it’s a beautiful empty beach and clear crystal waters that Jo really lusts after and since moving to Singapore she’s made it a personal mission to visit as many options as possible. From Indonesia’s Gili Islands to the Maldives, she can sniff out a sandy sanctuary at ten paces. Add a good book, a hammock and a cocktail and Jo is at her happiest – even more so now that she can write about her discoveries and experiences for Lightfoot.
