Jo’s love of travel began from a love of exploring Europe with her family as a child. Since then, she’s been obsessed with discovering new places, cultures and experiences, and is always planning her next adventure. To date, she’s been lucky enough to explore some of the world’s most amazing destinations, from experiencing sunrise at the Taj Mahal, horse riding across the Andes, diving in the Maldives to sailing around the Whitsundays Islands in Australia where she achieved her Day Skipper qualification.
With a strong passion for the great outdoors, British-born Jo is just as proficient on the slopes as she is on the seas, and she makes it her mission to return to Europe as much as possible to enjoy a Vin Chaude on the slopes, after a hard morning of skiing. Favourite resorts include Verbier for its picturesque views of the Matterhorn and Mont Blanc, Courchevel for wide runs and people watching, and Val D’Isere for its range of skiing, activities and restaurants, particularly La Peau de Vache. Jo admits that she loves destinations that come with a strong food culture – Sicily and its Insalata de Mare at Trattoria La Grotta – being a particular favourite.
Since making Singapore her home, Jo has made an effort to visit as many of the diverse surrounding countries as possible, from exploring the stunning islands of Indonesia, climbing Mount Rinjani for sunrise, to discovering the tea plantations in Sri Lanka and the vibrant street markets and pristine beaches of Vietnam. Fighting their way to the top of Jo’s hit list is hiking to the Tiger’s Nest in Bhutan, a horseback safari in Botswana, followed by beach time in Mozambique and meeting the pandas in China!
